IHU Launches ‘Hadith Studies’ and ‘Islamic Economics and Finance’ Research Centers


A Hadith Studies Application and Research Center and an Islamic Economics and Finance Application and Research Center were established within Ibn Haldun University (IHU). The regulations of the newly established centers entered into force by being published in the Official Gazette dated 16 November 2020.

Hadith Studies Application and Research Center

The Hadith Studies Application and Research Center will carry out studies in order to verify and authenticate the sources that contain the basic texts of the hadith, especially the Kutub al-Sittah, the six main collections of hadith. In addition to organizing national or international scientific meetings and educational seminars on the field, the center will qualify the university’s Basic Islamic Studies graduate hadith students in verification and authentication.

Islamic Economics and Finance Application and Research Center

The Islamic Economics and Finance Application and Research Center is launched to conduct research in the field of Islamic economics and finance, and to develop projects for new product design, in line with the goals set in the development plans and within the scope of the Istanbul International Finance Center (IFC) Project, and in line with the mission and vision of IHU. The Center aims at organizing national and international scientific meetings and training seminars to increase awareness and literacy in the field in question, carrying out joint studies with national and international stakeholders, developing Islamic economy and finance-themed distance education, certificate, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. It will hold activities conducive to capacity building events and consultancy services for private sector organizations and public institution representatives.
