Important Dates Concerning Spring Semester’s Online Education

Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, Ibn Haldun University (IHU) has converted all the academic programs to online education in the Fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year with the recommendations and directives of the Council of Higher Education (CoHE) on March 16, 2020. As a result of the surveys conducted by “CoHE” and the consultations held with the Ministry of Health regarding the education in the Spring semester, “CoHE” reported the need to make theoretical education online as much as possible to all the universities, taking into account the recommendations of the Ministry of Health and the minimum competencies to be gained in the programs.

The relevant letter of “CoHE” and the views of the Ministry of Health were discussed in the Senate of IHU, and a declaration was made on how the education will take place in the Spring semester of the 2020-2021 Academic Year. According to this, in line with the decision of the Executive Board of Higher Education dated 17.02.2021, it is necessary to remotely conduct educational activities in the Preparatory, Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programs in the 2020-2021 Spring semester. At the Senate meeting dated February 19, 2021, it was decided that only graduate courses can be taught with the mixed (hybrid) method at the discretion of the instructor.

IHU’s Complex and Library Will Be Open During the Online Education

On the other hand, Ibn Haldun University’s Complex will be open throughout the online education. In the complex, where all measures against the pandemic continue to be implemented with great seriousness, the library services will be offered considering the physical distance rules.

Ibn Haldun University to Perform Online Education successfully

Since the pandemic outbreak in Turkey, IHU has suspended face-to-face education, and all the offered programs, including lectures and exams, were successfully carried out online without any delay in the academic calendar.

In addition, trainings were carried out to provide support services to academics and students on remote education and the pedagogy of it. Within the scope of pedagogical training on teaching methods, teaching materials, course processing and assessment processes, the Online Education Certificate Program was organized by the Curriculum Studies Application and Research Center and the Continuing Education Application and Research Center on September 7-18, and all academics have got online education certificates.
