The 3rd Commencement Ceremony Farewells IHU’s Graduates to Their Future Careers

In the Closing Lecture held on Friday, November 26, Assist. Prof. Nursem Keskin Aksay of Sociology Department delivered a presentation titled “The ‘Cultural’ Turn in Social Life.”

On Saturday, November 27, the Diploma Ceremony was held with the participation of the Board of Trustees, alumni and their families and the academics. After the Academic Procession, recitation of the National Anthem and the recitation of verses of the Holy Quran, President Prof. Atilla Arkan delivered the opening speech.

In the opening speech, President Arkan stressed out that “Ibn Haldun University will become much stronger thanks to the strong ties that will continue with alumni.”

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Irfan Gündüz also delivered a speech at the ceremony. At his speech Prof. Gündüz said addressing the graduates “in fact, your journey has not been over yet, you are at the beginning of a new excursion,” referring to Yunus Emre’s poem “knowledge is to know yourself” and reminded that those who know people will also be acquainted with the universe adding “We must reflect our knowledge to the life.”

Then, the ceremony continued with a speech on behalf of the graduates titled “We Aren’t Done Yet!” by Rizky Amallia, a graduate of Political Science and International Relations Graduate Program.

The ceremony was concluded with the Diploma Ceremony and the Closing Remarks by Prof. Halil Berktay of History Department.
