Organized under the sponsorship of our University, the "Sadâkat" exhibition will meet art enthusiasts between May 7–17 at the Palace Collections Museum, Dolmabahçe Art Gallery. Comprising works of calligraphy, illumination, marbling, and miniature, the exhibition aims to “remind” the struggle of the Palestinian people through the elegant forms of Islamic art. The exhibition is curated by Meryem Veli, with H. Gülnihal Aydın serving as the creative director.
The "Sadâkat" exhibition aims to serve as a manifesto that cries out, through the language of art, a stance against one of the longest-lasting occupations in history.
Among the participating artists are Hanifi Dursun, Hakan Arslan, Hatice Öz Onal, Selim Sağlam, Nilüfer Kurfeyz, Şevval Çağıran, Zeynep Tuğ, and Palestinian artists Ahmad Asmar, Haysem Selmo, and Sahar Kabi. Works by the late master calligrapher Hasan Çelebi, whom we have recently lost, will also be featured in the exhibition.
The artworks will be offered for sale in two phases, and all proceeds will be donated to Palestine, thanks to the voluntary contributions of the artists.
