“Bangladesh Culture Promotion Day” Held at Our University
The ‘Bangladesh Culture Promotion Day’ was organized at our university by Turks Abroad And Related Communities (YTB) and the World Ethnosport Union.

Ibn Haldun University hosted the “Bangladesh Culture Promotion Day” organized by Turks Abroad And Related Communities (YTB) and the World Ethnosport Union. On Monday, December 1, the program was held at Ibn Haldun University’s Media and Event Center with artistic performances, cultural workshops, and traditional refreshments. Participants also had the opportunity to experience various traditional activities—most notably archery—through special cultural stations prepared in cooperation with the World Ethnosport Union.

Following the cultural activities, World Ethnosport Union President and Deputy Chairman of our Board of Trustees, Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, together with the President of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), Abdulhadi Turus, met with Bangladeshi students in a session titled “Bangladesh: A New Conversation.”

“The Young People Who Will Shape Bangladesh’s Future Are Being Educated Here”

Speaking at the event, President of the World Ethnosport Union and Deputy Chairman of our Board of Trustees, Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, emphasized that Bangladesh is an important country for the Islamic world and highlighted the significance of mutual recognition and transforming established ties into concrete actions.

Erdoğan stated that the education Bangladeshi students receive in Türkiye will play a critical role in the future of their country, urging young people to ask themselves, “What can I do for the future of Bangladesh?” He stressed that individuals must be willing to make sacrifices for their homeland. Erdoğan noted that Ibn Haldun University organizes cultural days to strengthen cultural interaction and underlined the importance of such events for fostering unity, solidarity, and a strong international network. Highlighting the necessity of adopting a global perspective, he stated that aiming for “the best” is essential in achieving long-term goals. He concluded his speech by emphasizing the importance of acquiring economic strength in order to decolonize knowledge.

“International Students Are the Strongest Bridge Between Bangladesh and Türkiye”

Abdulhadi Turus, President of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), emphasized that the most important factor contributing to Türkiye–Bangladesh relations is the international students studying in Türkiye. Turus stated that there are a total of 975 Bangladeshi students in Türkiye, 220 of whom are studying with YTB scholarships, and noted that these students form the foundation of future relations between the two countries, which are expected to yield significant economic, social, and cultural outcomes. He concluded his speech by expressing gratitude to all those involved and to the students for their contributions.
