The Turkish PhD program in Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Education has been opened at our university. The program aims to train scientists and researchers who will contribute to Türkiye’s digital transformation goals in education, support policymakers with scientific data, and produce innovative, field-oriented solutions.
Artificial intelligence technologies affect all areas of life, and education in particular. While causing a major transformation that requires questioning and redefining roles and actions in education, it also necessitates the development of new theoretical perspectives and applications, conducting research on these matters, and training academicians with competencies focused on these fields.
With its social sciences-based and holistic perspective, our University views artificial intelligence in education as a field of study that needs to be addressed not only through its technological aspect but also along with its pedagogical, psychological, sociological, and ethical dimensions, and plays a critical role in training qualified scientists in this area.
