'US Can Not Find a Trustworthy Partner Than Turkey'

Ibn Haldun University has organized a conference in cooperation with TURKEN Foundation USA, titled "Intellectual Independence: New Directions in Education." in New York, USA. Speaking at the conferance Prof. Dr. Recep Şentürk, the President of Ibn Haldun University stressed that it is vital for US to have a dialogue and a constructive cooperation with Turkey to deal with the Islamic world and Middle East. According to Prof. Şentürk, US should work with the right partners in Mideast. "Speaking about Middle East there is no other country for US to work with other than Turkey that is stable and trustworthy. It is important for US to cooperate with a legitimate and stable country rather than working together with illegal organizations and terrorist groups. I think this is the proper way for US to search for solutions in the Middle East." he said.

Prof. Şentürk emphasized that US is one of the most important countries in the world, therefore the political decisions of the government have a great influence all around the world. "While dealing with the countries in the Middle East, the history of Turkey-US relations had it's ups and downs. I think the existing crisis will be sorted out but for that to happen, Washington and Ankara should construct a very close dialogue." Şentürk said. Prof. Şentürk thinks to construct the necessary dialogue betwen two countries, Turkey's arguements should be better transferred to US media and public. "I think at the end of the day Turkey will come out of this crisis successfully. Because Turkey justly stands against oppression and it is our duty to tell this to the world. Being right does not mean that people will understand that. I think we should continue to tell in detail that we are right." he added.
