The traditional iftar of our founding foundation Turkish Youth and Education Service Foundation (TÜRGEV) was held at our University Complex with our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
On Friday, April 5, 2024, many names from academia, politics, arts, and sports attended the large-scale iftar.
The program, which was attended by the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Prof. Numan Kurtulmuş, Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of our University Prof. İrfan Gündüz, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees Necmettin Bilal Erdoğan, Our Rector Prof. Atilla Arkan and students of our University, started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. After adhan, iftar was served. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed the participants after the iftar.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan started his greeting speeches by congratulating the participants on Laylat al-Qadr. Mr. Erdoğan mentioned that TÜRGEV, which was established in 1996 as ISEGEV, has been protecting the youth of our country for 28 years and that TÜRGEV, which contributes to the education of thousands of people every year and undertakes the task of being a warm home for them, has made a name for itself with its successful works. Expressing that he has always been honored to be among the founders of this exceptional roof, our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan underlined that TÜRGEV has always had a different place in the hearts and mentioned that they will not hesitate to support the foundation in the future. Thanking everyone who contributed to the activities of the foundation and contributed materially and morally, Erdoğan stated that organizations like TÜRGEV cannot be replaced in raising our young people, who are the guarantee of our future, as good sons and daughters of their homeland, nation, and families.
Stating that he believes that the TEKNOFEST youth, which he has mentioned at every opportunity, will emerge from among our students and that Türkiye’s century will rise on the shoulders of our youth, Erdoğan said that he saw here the architects of a new, great, strong and determined Türkiye that marches towards its goals by overcoming obstacles, the successful scientists, politicians, educators, engineers, business people, doctors, and exemplary mothers who raise generations that are good for our nation, and concluded his speech by thanking everyone who contributed to the program.
In her welcoming remarks, TÜRGEV Chairperson of the Board of Directors Assoc. Prof. Fatmanur Altun stated that the level of appreciation for the priorities of the foundation has increased with each passing day at the foundation. In her speech expressing her happiness to come together in such an atmosphere, Assoc. Prof. Altun also mentioned TÜRGEV's project Güzel İşler Fabrikası (GİF), which was established in 2019 and launched in 2022, and talked about the cultural, artistic and academic activities of these organizations, which currently have 4 branches, for young female members of the society. Altun underlined that they continue their journey to ensure that young people become self-confident individuals who discover their inherent potential and create environments where they can have common experiences with their peers. Stating that it is their biggest dream to reach many more cities with numerous activities carried out at home and abroad, Assoc. Prof. Fatmanur Altun concluded her words by thanking our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan who never withheld their support on this journey and all TÜRGEV employees.
At the event, which was held in a beautiful atmosphere in the inner garden of our university, the guests also had the opportunity to visit the TURGEV exhibition from 1996 to today.
