This year, for the fourth time, students of the YKS Academy and Culture-Art Summer School held a conversation with Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan.

Within the scope of the YKS Academy and Culture-Art Summer School, held for the fourth time this year and hosted by Ibn Haldun University, students came together with the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan. During the interview, which attracted great interest, many topics that the students were curious about were discussed.

“A Beacon of Hope from Turkey to the World”

Starting his speech by greeting the students, Erdoğan addressed the question “Why such a university?” by emphasizing the importance of educating capable individuals who can understand and solve societal problems.

Erdoğan stated that Ibn Haldun University operates with a unique vision in the field of social sciences and highlighted that the university’s high ratio of master’s and doctoral students supports this vision.

He noted that, as a foundation university, they have a strong international student profile, and emphasized that the university is progressing with the goal of becoming “a beacon of hope spreading from Turkey to the world.”

“The Importance of Not Being Ordinary”

“The world is not limited to the city or country we live in,” said Erdoğan, advising students to avoid being ordinary. He emphasized the importance of understanding one's own roots while also staying informed about developments in the West.

Erdoğan highlighted the value of multilingualism and international experience, encouraging students to improve their language skills. He also answered students’ questions and shared insights on various topics, ranging from foundation activities and graduate employment to the opportunities available to young people today.

“Justice and Compassion Are Our Most Important Values”

Touching upon educational opportunities, Erdoğan highlighted the value of free and high-quality education in Türkiye. In response to the question, “What are the most important values we should export to the West?”, he answered, “justice and compassion.” He concluded his speech by emphasizing the importance of being productive and returning to our roots through progress.
