As part of İbn Haldun University’s ongoing efforts to monitor and continuously improve the quality of its teaching and learning processes, a “Workshop on Evaluating and Enhancing Teaching and Learning Processes” was held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. The workshop, which took place at the Media and Event Center, began with an opening speech by our Rector, Prof. Atilla Arkan. Moderated by our Vice Rector, Prof. Özcan E. Akgün, the workshop brought together faculty members at department-based tables, where they conducted a comprehensive evaluation of teaching and learning processes from a holistic perspective.
In the first sessions of the day, the results of the course satisfaction surveys were discussed, and the university’s new “Continuous Improvement System for Teaching and Learning” was introduced. Participants identified the strengths and areas for improvement in their own courses and prepared self-assessment reports through the system. In the following sessions, topics such as course outcomes, exam practices, teaching and learning methods, and the effectiveness of student feedback were discussed. The sessions also focused on updating program outcomes, developing digital and AI-oriented courses, and enhancing practice-based education models such as 7+1. Corresponding improvement plans were developed during these discussions.
In the final part of the workshop, academic advising processes, career planning, and strengthening relations with alumni were evaluated, and recommendations for improvement were formulated. The plans and evaluations will be further discussed at departmental board meetings in the coming days and implemented accordingly.
Conducted in line with the vision of our university, this workshop served as an important platform supporting the continuous enhancement of teaching and learning processes, successfully concluded with the collective contributions of our faculty members.
