Professor Teoman Duralı, the Head of Department of Philosophy at Ibn Haldun University participated to a conference organized by Mavera Youth Club titled, "The Problem of Values of the Time." Speaking at the conference held in the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Theology an Dicle University professor Duralı said, the priority of people living in societies should be to learn decency and it is the religion that determines it.  Emphasizing the importance of decency in societies Professor Duralı said, "Religion is obliged to determine decency whether it is fethishism, totemism, polytheistic or monotheistic. Religion determines that decency in connection with a strenght that is posthuman or exceeds the boundries of the world. We call this structure spirituality and it is not connected with the world's material structure. Every religion attributes itself to spirituality."

Professor Duralı said humans can never continue their existence being alone and emphasized that existence can only be sustained in the societies. Professor Duralı mentioned that humans are bilateral. "One side of humans totally give onto aliveness. That is his side of humanity and scientific and biotic rules and codes are in question. The other side of humans is cultural. Culture is totally something different. We are born as humans and start growing in a cultural environment. In this cultural environment, education is the first thing that we meet. We are being educated and women, our mothers lead this education. According to Islam, mothers are the source of societies. When humans are born, they do not have an attitude. Eveything starts coming to existence by education. We learn to walk, we learn to read, to eat, to drink and most important of them all is that we learn our language. If they do not happen, we can not survive. Values that are not inherited naturally and are the outcome of the activities of mankind are accepted as culture." he added.
