“Mediation Education” organized by Ibn Haldun University Continuing Education Center (İHSEM), started at Bakırköy campus of our university. Education aims to provide the candidates with the necessary information within the scope of the Law on Mediation in Civil Disputes No. 6325 and the relevant regulation, to gain access to written and practical examinations held by the Ministry of Justice in order to become a registered mediator in the registry of Ministry of Justice. Graduates of Law Faculty with at least 5 years in the profession are attending the 84 hours of education. Education which lasts 5 days of one week is provided by faculty members of Ibn Haldun University Professor Ali Yeşilırmak and Dr. Yeliz Bozkurt Gümrükçüoğlu. The education consisted of 14 modules covers the following headlines, “What is mediation?” “Basic principles of Mediation Process,” “Who is The Mediator,” “Review of the Stages of Mediation,” “Preparatory Phase,” “Starting Phase,” “Review Phase,” “Negotiation Phase,” “Result/ Agreement Phase,” “Gender Equity, Diversity and Mediation,” “Mediation in Practice” and “Mediation Legislation.”
