Bringing together academics from all departments, the 2025 Academic Consultation and Evaluation Camp took place on Democracy and Freedoms Island between September 12–14, 2025. On the first day of the camp, our Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. İrfan Gündüz, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, and our Rector Prof. Atilla Arkan each delivered an opening address.
In his welcoming speech at the camp, Prof. İrfan Gündüz, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, emphasized that a nation’s true wealth lies in its skilled human capital and highlighted the importance of educating future leaders.
Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan highlighted the positive impact of the consultation camps on both academic and administrative staff. He emphasized the university’s achievements in student recruitment, the need to expand graduate programs, and the importance of engaging students in research and publications. Erdoğan stressed that academics play a key role in enhancing the university’s prestige and ensuring the success of national and international projects.
Finally, in his welcoming speech at the camp, our Rector Prof. Atilla Arkan shared the university’s goals for the new term. He announced AI-supported education, summer schools with contributions from international academics, and a series of textbooks to transmit the legacy of Islamic thought. Arkan emphasized that strengthening graduate education and developing the university’s research-oriented structure are top priorities.
At the 2025 Academic Consultation and Evaluation Camp, certificates of achievement were presented to academics who performed successfully in the previous term’s evaluations, as well as to those who received promotions in their positions and titles, and to faculty members who have completed five years at our university. A welcome ceremony was also held for newly appointed academics.
During the camp, a “Vision and Strategy Workshop” was conducted as part of the preparations for the university’s strategic plan for the next three years. Following productive consultations and activities, the camp concluded successfully.
