The 2026 Academic Staff Consultation and Evaluation Camp took place between September 11–13, 2026, at the Ibn Haldun University Language Village with the participation of our academic staff. On the first day of the camp, our President of the Board of Trustees, Prof. İrfan Gündüz, and our Rector, Prof. Atilla Arkan, delivered welcoming addresses.
Speaking on the first day of the camp, Prof. İrfan Gündüz, President of the Board of Trustees of our University, highlighted the responsibility of our academics by quoting the adage, “Every consultation must be held with the competent,” while emphasizing the meaning, significance, and objectives of the camp. He stated that they had convened to review the past and formulate strategies for the future alongside our academics.
Expressing that the responsibility incumbent upon academics is to equip our youth with the strength and capability to shoulder the future of Türkiye, Prof. Gündüz underscored that future steps must be meticulously calculated, adding: “You must take steps that ensure if you are one today, you become a thousand tomorrow.”
Delivering his welcoming address on the first day of the camp, our Rector, Prof. Atilla Arkan, emphasized that where Ibn Haldun University will make a true difference lies in anticipating future challenges and leading through corresponding projects, publications, and initiatives. In doing so, he affirmed that we would avoid missing the future.
Underlining the necessity of being a productive, innovative, and creative institution, Prof. Arkan also drew attention to our University’s character as an international, research-oriented institution that prioritizes service to society. As an example of initiatives pursued toward this vision, he highlighted nearly 30 distinct summer schools organized at our University throughout the summer.
It was noted that Ibn Haldun University’s top priorities for the new academic year include leading projects under the vision of a Terror-Free Türkiye, establishing a Social Sciences High School as a pioneering initiative in our country, and staying one step ahead of current developments by conducting high-caliber research on artificial intelligence. Our Rector’s address also covered the current course of national and global affairs alongside various ongoing projects of our University.
During the 2026 Academic Staff Consultation and Evaluation Camp, our academics shared recommendations for process improvement. On the second day of the camp, following presentations delivered by our University’s Secretary General and Vice Rectors, the newly joined members of our academic faculty were introduced. In the final session of the day, a workshop entitled “Science Communication and University Visibility” was held under the moderation of Assist. Prof. Ali Kıvrak, faculty member of the School of Communication.
The camp concluded on its third day following the Workshop Evaluation and Camp Evaluation sessions.
