The Exhibition of “Mixed Works for The Stars of the Future” Was Opened with The Presence of the First Lady of Turkey
To be organized for the second consecutive year in order to contribute to the high ideals of Ibn Haldun University, especially “Intellectual Independence,” the Exhibition of “Mixed Works for the Stars of the Future” was opened at the Grand Camlica Mosque’s Exhibition Hall on Saturday, May 11 with the presence of Mrs. Emine Erdogan

To be organized for the second consecutive year in order to contribute to the high ideals of Ibn Haldun University, especially “Intellectual Independence,” the Exhibition of “Mixed Works for the Stars of the Future” was opened at the Grand Camlica Mosque’s Exhibition Hall on Saturday, May 11 with the presence of Mrs. Emine Erdogan. The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Board of Trustees Prof. İrfan Gündüz, the President of Ibn Haldun University Prof. Recep Şentürk, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, and Member of the Board of Trustees Hümeyra Şahin, as well as numerous guests from the world of business, art and education.

“Science seeds that you will plant here, will illuminate our horizon of civilization like the stars that illuminate our way at night”

“I wish this blessed month, would bring goodness for all mankind like it immersed us with the merciful rains. May Allah accept our prayers and give us the opportunity to celebrate the coming feast. It is very pleasing that Grand Çamlıca Mosque is hosting such a meaningful event, immediately after its inauguration.” Emine Erdogan, who started her speech with these words, recalled that the income from the exhibition will be used in the educational activities of Ibn Haldun University and added: “I believe that the seeds you will plant here, will illuminate our horizon of civilization like the stars illuminate our way at night. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who contributed, especially to our philanthropists. In particular, we cannot describe the pleasure given to human being when dedicating such rare works to science. It is admirable that the works representing our civilization are put into service again to construct our civilization.”

“We are delighted to open the Mixed Works Exhibition for the Stars of the Future in a Great Place Like the Grand Çamlıca Mosque.”

In the speech he gave at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, İrfan Gündüz, “we are delighted to open the Mixed Works Exhibition for the Stars of the Future in a wonderful place like the Grand Çamlıca Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan. Due to granting power to us, we thank Mrs. Emine Erdogan,” Said Gündüz. Based on “global” and “local” words, Prof. Gündüz reminded that Ibn Haldun University is a “glocal” university, and added “our claim of civilization is based on our own values.” Prof. Dr. İrfan Gündüz continued his speech with the words, “we are raising our students with a vision of leadership that will direct our future in order to make them capable of competing and either surpassing their peers in today’s world where there is an intense global competition.” Prof. Gündüz also pointed out that the best examples of Islamic arts could be seen at the exhibition.

“We are working hard on nurturing every single student not like a factory but like a jewelry workshop”

Our President Prof. Recep Şentürk started his speech thanking Mrs. Emine Erdoğan for her incentives for the exhibition. In addition to cash scholarships, we offer accommodation. At our university, we work meticulously on every student, not just like a factory, but like a jewelry workshop. We want to nurture our young people who will be the stars of the future, exactly like a jewel.” After the speeches, First Lady Emine Erdoğan, Prof. İrfan Gündüz, Prof. Recep Şentürk, Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, Hümeyra Şahin, Our Secretary General Erkam Tüzgen, Istanbul Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Coşkun Yılmaz and the President of Çamlıca Mosque’s Construction Association Ergin Külünkün, performed the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon to declare the exhibition open. After the opening, Mrs Erdoğan made an exhibition tour with the guests and got information about the works.

“A total of 233 charitable collections took place in the exhibition”

In the exhibition, which includes a total of 233 works, Sultan Abdulhamid II Han's signature engraved on upon ornate cartridges, Sultan Abdulhamid I Han’s twenty lines of hand-drawn monogram as well as samples of works of calligraphers and gilders such as Fuat Basar, Davut Bektas, Efdaluddin Kilic, Turan Sevgili, M. Cemil Efe, Gurkan Pehlivan, Ahmet Kutluhan and Ferhat Kurlu. “Mixed Works for the Stars of the Future” Exhibition of 2019, be visited in the Exhibition Hall of Büyük Çamlıca Mosque until the end of Ramadan.
