Professor Recep Şentürk, the President of Ibn Haldun University visited Middlebury University which is a leading institutions in terms of language education during his tour in US. Prof. Şentürk said, both institutions will develope concreate projects in language education.

Professor Recep Şentürk, the President of Ibn Haldun University visited Middlebury University which is a leading institutions in terms of language education during his tour in US. Prof. Şentürk said, both institutions will develope concreate projects in language education. After meeting with Laurie L. Patton, the President of Middlebury University and the vice president Jaffry Cason, Prof. Şentürk said they had the opportunity to discuss the possible cooperation areas. "Middlebury University is a leading institution in terms of language education and the summer courses are very popular and fruitful" he said. Prof. Şentürk underlined that two institutions will sign a cooperation agreement and especially work together for the education of Arabic and Turkish languages. According to Prof. Şentürk, students who are studying at Middlebery University will get the chance to travel to Turkey in an exchange program to learn Arabic and Turkish.

"The graduate and doctorate students will also get the chance to study Turkish Studies, Islamic Research and Ottoman History at Ibn Haldun University" he said. Once the agreement is signed, Arabic instructors at Ibn Haldun University will be able to start teaching Arabic at Middlebery University as well. Both institution will also cooperate in teaching English. Meanwhile, Mahmood Abdallah, the head of the Arabic Department at Middlebery University who accompanied president Şentürk during his visit, will be travelling to Turkey as a keynote speaker at the symposium of "Developing Arabic Teaching Methods" which will be held in March.
