1st Graduate Conference on Social Sciences, Humanities and Management (IHU GradCon 2018) in which graduate students present their thesis proposals has ended. Professor Recep Şentürk, the President of Ibn Haldun University said in his opening speech, student should choose their thesis subjects from "issues", "events" or "individuals."
Professor Şentürk emphasized that students should choose an "issue" that caused them to ask questions beginning from the day they were born. "In my opinion a thesis subject should focus on 'issues.' 'Events' or 'individuals' can only be resarch topics for a thesis." he added. Professor Şentürk also underlined that it is of great importance that the graduate and PhD students working on their thesises, have very close relationship with their supervisors. After the opening speeches, Professor Ekrem Tatoğlu, Vice President of Ibn Haldun University and the Dean of School of Management Sciences, made a presentation titled "How to do a Research?" Professor Tatoğlu emphasized that the basis of social sciences is doing research.
He lectured of how graduate and PhD student writing thesises can reach to sources and what kind of technology student can use to interpret their raw data into proper thesis writing. After the openning ceremony graduate student presented their thesis proposals. Proposals were made about management, business administration, economics, financial economics, clinical psychology, Turkish Studies, Civilization Studies, Religious Studies and Basic Islamic Studies in three sessions titled "Management Sciences", "Social Sciences" and "Humanities."
