The launch of Notmatix, an AI platform of entirely domestic engineering, took place at our University on July 13, 2026. The first institutional university application of Notmatix, the first AI-backed assessment and evaluation platform developed in our country, was also implemented by our University.
The launch event was attended by the Vice Chairman of our Board of Trustees, Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan; Vice Governor of Istanbul, Mehmet Sülün; President of our University, Prof. Atilla Arkan; Co-Founder of Notmatix, Serdar Kasırga; Türk Telekom CEO, Ebubekir Şahin; Founder and President of CO-1 Venture Office, Ali Emre Erişen; university administrators, academics, and guests.
The program commenced with the screening of the Notmatix promotional video. Following this, Serdar Kasırga, Prof. Atilla Arkan, and the Vice Chairman of our Board of Trustees, Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, delivered opening speeches, sharing their evaluations on topics such as Notmatix, artificial intelligence technology, and the development of this technology specifically in Türkiye. The opening speeches were followed by the official presentation of Notmatix.
Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan stated that artificial intelligence technology represents the greatest turning point of our era, and that as a country, we must seize this momentum. He also emphasized the need for preliminary preparation and highlighted the importance of thinking ahead about the changes that will unfold following this disruption.
Asking the question, "Why are we doing this?" Erdoğan reminded the audience that the ultimate goal must always be to prioritize social benefit, stating, "Are we developing artificial intelligence for the sake of artificial intelligence itself, or are we developing it for the benefit of humanity?"
He expressed his hopes that Notmatix would serve as a project that supports teachers in education and facilitates the individual evaluation of students.
Drawing a parallel between artificial intelligence and the Industrial Revolution, our President, Prof. Atilla Arkan, noted that the transformations brought about by AI are much faster. He mentioned that the newly established Department of Philosophy and Artificial Intelligence at Ibn Haldun University aims to observe and guide the relationship between emerging technology, its subsequent changes, and society and humanity.
Serdar Kasırga, the co-founder of the platform, stated that the platform was developed with the goal of helping Türkiye become one of the leading countries in educational technologies worldwide.
