On Monday, May 11, 2026, Alparslan Bayraktar, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye, attended a lecture of the Political Science and International Relations department. During the lecture, which was conducted in English, Minister Bayraktar delivered a presentation titled “Energy Security in the Age of Turmoil”.
The interactive session with students covered current and potential energy projects on both national and international scales. Discussions focused on the global crises of the last six years and their impact on energy production and consumption, the increasing dependence on electricity in most aspects of life, renewable energy sources, and nuclear power plants. The effects of current international policies on energy routes and the economy were also emphasized. Furthermore, the lecture examined the path Türkiye is following in these matters in relation to its central location and its relations with neighbouring countries.
The course concluded after Minister Bayraktar answered the students' questions following his presentation.
