Professor Suraiya Faroqhi from the Department of History at Ibn Haldun University was hosted by Serdivan Thought and Arts Academy at a seminar titled "The Relations Between Rulers and the Ruled in Ottoman Cities."
Professor Faroq delivered the demographic status of the central and rural areas under the Ottoman State. She also underlined the state structure and the political transformation of the empire that ruled the world for 600 years by comparing with others states of the time.
Answering the questions of the participants Professor Faroqhi said the trade has gained momentum by the development of the strategically important coastal towns.
