With the aim of expanding the Islamic Capital Market between Türkiye and Malaysia, two states holding a significant position in Islamic Finance activities, our university brought together leading financial representatives from Türkiye and Malaysia at the Islamic Capital Markets Forum on June 2, 2026.
During the two-day event hosted by our university, presentations were delivered on worldwide Islamic finance activities, economic activities currently being carried out or planned between Türkiye and Malaysia, and the global impact of these two nations.
Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of our university, stated that the relations between Türkiye and Malaysia have developed significantly. He mentioned that such a collaboration requires more than just shared capital; it demands common values, mutual trust, and shared goals. He emphasized that the Forum is a continuation of the relationship built and shared around common objectives and values between the two countries over generations.
The President of our university, Prof. Atilla Arkan, greeted both local and international guests in his speech. After addressing the current state of the world, Prof. Arkan highlighted that finance is a global source of power.
Ali Erdurmuş, Vice Chairman of the Capital Markets Board of Türkiye, emphasized concepts such as the real economy, Islamic finance, transparency in trade, social responsibilities of commerce, and the impact of industry support on economic mobility. He recalled the impact of the economic crises experienced over the past decades on the global market. Emphasizing the importance of eco-friendly and sustainable practices, Erdurmuş pointed out problems such as unbalanced taxation and intermediaries overshadowing the main producers in trade. He stated that the tax regulations implemented by our country in 2015 serve as an exemplary solution, and he encouraged the pursuit of new solutions.
Furkan Karayaka, Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye Investment and Finance Office, expressed that Türkiye has transformed into a vital bridge in the financial world. He also referred to the upcoming 3rd Global Islamic Economy Summit, which will take place at the Istanbul Financial Center between June 3–6 and will feature the participation of our university.
During the Forum, Rafiuddin Shikoh, CEO and Managing Partner of DinarStandard, delivered a presentation on the “State of the Global Islamic Economy” and presented a printed copy of the report to Mr. Bilal Erdoğan.
The Islamic Capital Markets Forum concluded following two days of detailed presentations and panel sessions.
