Binali Yıldırım, President of the Turkic States Organization White Beards Council, came together with our students and members at the event "The Vision of the Organization of Turkic States and the Role of the Council of White Bears" organized by Haydar Aliyev Eurasian Studies Application and Research Center.

In addition to our students, members of the press showed great interest in the event held at the Ibn Haldun University Complex on Tuesday, May 24.

“Ibn Haldun University is a Refined University with a Vision of Being Globally Effective”

Speaking at the event, Binali Yıldırım started his speech by mentioning his pleasure to meet with the students at our University on the occasion of this invitation, saying that our University, which bears the name of a great scientist raised by our civilization, has more than met the expectations from him accordingly, its vision of being influential not only in the field of social sciences, but also in the global arena. He also underlined that it is a refined university with its vision-oriented activities.

“Locomotive Role and Locomotive Country Turkey”

Continuing his speech with the words “We know that there is strength in unity, we know that there is torment in separation”, Yıldırım stated that we, as Turkey, fulfill the requirements of our geography and historical background, and that Turkey's locomotive role and position as a locomotive country in the Organization of Turkish States is a reflection of this.

“Turkish states contain much more than their proportional weight in the world in terms of their total surface area and population. At this point, the locomotive role and country is Turkey. Turkish states have a total trade volume of 700 billion dollars in the world economy. But when we look at the trade between these countries, we see a volume of only 16 billion dollars out of 700 billion dollars. As an organization, we must first eliminate the differences in welfare within ourselves, which is possible by increasing the trade between us. So even this figure shows that we need to go a long way.” Continuing his speech, Yıldırım added that the Organization has come to these days at the end of a very troublesome process, and that the last 100 years of both our country and the Turkish states must be understood well in order to better understand the point reached.

Evaluating that today the effectiveness and weight of international institutions such as the United Nations are being questioned more and more, Yıldırım stated that our President's rhetoric "The world is bigger than 5" contributed greatly to this questioning that needs to be done for a more just and livable world.

“Education Is An Important Dimension To Accelerate The Integration And Cooperation Between Us As Turkish States”

Making a brief assessment of the establishment and mission of the Organization from a historical perspective, Yıldırım pointed out that the current conjuncture further reveals the role of the Organization, especially by drawing attention to the political turmoil in our region in recent years, when the world political and economic system is undergoing a new transformation. Stating that the communication and transportation facilities experienced with globalization are the driving force for the Organization to come to today, Yıldırım added that an important dimension of accelerating the integration and cooperation between us as the Turkish states is the educational dimension, and that our country hosts tens of thousands of students from the Turkish world. .

Yıldırım, who also shared his evaluations on the foreign policy agenda, especially the applications for NATO membership of Sweden and Finland, talked about the role of the White Beards Council in the Organization and the duties it assumed, and stated that the turning point for the Council was the last Leaders' Summit held within the Organization. He underlined that the Council was strengthened by updating the legislation on the Whitebeards Council, which existed before but with limited effectiveness.

“We are living in a process where the center of the world has shifted from the West to the East”

Our Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, who made the opening speeches at the event, stated that our Haydar Aliyev Eurasian Studies Application and Research Center was established to carry out strategic studies for the interests of our country, and said, “With various crises and economic turmoil in the world, the center of the world has moved from the West to the East. We live in a shifting process. So, at the right time, we see the Agency's profile rising.” continued his speech. Erdoğan pointed out the importance of knowing that the Turkish World is a neighborhood, a geography of heart for us, and that our students realize this and shift their studies to this field.

“We Must Develop Alternative Solutions Suitable for Our Culture and Civilization, with Policies That Make a Difference, Against Global Crises and Challenges”

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Atilla Arkan, in his speech at the opening of the event, stated that we are in a very rapid process of change and transformation from individuals to societies, from states to international actors, and that this process of change requires multidimensional evaluation and analysis, and added that we are dealing with possible crises, difficulties and challenges that humanity will face in the near future. He pointed out the importance of making sound predictions about challenges, developing policies that make a difference, and alternative solutions suitable for our culture and civilization, and especially being an institutional guide to policy makers.

Expressing that we, as Ibn Haldun University, are aware of this responsibility, Prof. Arkan added that he wholeheartedly believes that we will contribute significantly to our country's achievement of its 2053 and 2071 targets, and to carry the member states of the Organization of Turkish States, of which it is the locomotive, to higher levels, both with the leading students we have trained and the studies we carry out at our centers such as the Haydar Aliyev Center for Eurasian Studies.

Director of Ibn Haldun University Haydar Aliyev Eurasian Studies Application and Research Center Prof. Dr. Regarding the mission, vision and activities of Yaşar Sarı; The "Vision of the Organization of the Turkic States and the Role of the Council of White Beards" event, in which the Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Ömer Kocaman made a short presentation on the history of the Organization, ended after presenting a gift to our guest, Binali Yıldırım, and taking souvenir photos.
