Awarded 5-year full institutional accreditation by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK), our University hosted YÖKAK President Prof. Ümit Kocabıçak on Monday, July 27, 2026. Prof. Kocabıçak presented the accreditation certificate certifying our University’s quality to our Rector, Prof. Atilla Arkan.
The 5-year full institutional accreditation awarded by YÖKAK following the evaluation of our University’s governance structure, quality assurance system, and educational, research, and social contribution activities demonstrates that our quality assurance system possesses a sustainable and institutionalized structure.
At the Certificate Presentation Ceremony, Prof. Kocabıçak also delivered a presentation titled “Değişen-Dönüşen Dünyada Eğitimde Küreselleşme ve Akreditasyonların Önemi” (Globalization in Education in a Changing and Transforming World and the Importance of Accreditations). Stating that only 28 universities in Türkiye hold full accreditation and that Ibn Haldun University entered this list with remarkably high scores, Prof. Kocabıçak underlined that institutions entitled to accreditation deserve appreciation and should serve as models for others.
Prof. Kocabıçak noted that higher education aims to increase the number of international students coming to our country to 1 million and emphasized that these accreditations are essential for the diplomas awarded to international students by our universities to be recognized when they return to their home countries.
In his presentation, Prof. Kocabıçak focused on how global changes affect the education and business sectors, particularly highlighting the impact of artificial intelligence on both fields. He stated that while integrating AI support into professional practices for routine tasks, students should be equipped with greater capabilities in areas requiring creativity and human intelligence.
Expressing that the advent of AI necessitates skill development not only in artificial intelligence itself but also in critical fields such as cybersecurity and data science, Prof. Kocabıçak emphasized that both graduates and incoming students must acquire these skills alongside their core program competencies. He stressed the importance of instilling a lifelong learning mission in students and graduates to ensure they do not fall behind current developments.
In his speech, our Rector, Prof. Atilla Arkan, emphasized the great significance of this accreditation for our University, noting that this success was achieved through teamwork, and congratulated all our academic and administrative staff who contributed to the process.
The program concluded with the presentation of a plaque to our former Vice Rector, Prof. Mustafa Kemal Yılmaz, in recognition of his efforts during the accreditation process.
